I picked up a second-hand Shimano Alfine SG-S7051-8 hub that comes with the electronic (Di2) shifting unit.
Is it possible to remove the electronic shifting unit and convert it to manual shifting with a cable, shift lever, and rotary joint?
Perplexity.ai suggested this isn’t possible, but looking at the hub it seems like the electronic unit could be swapped for a standard mechanical shift mechanism.
Has anyone actually tried this, or can confirm whether the shifting mechanisms are interchangeable?

No…how should it be possible, there is no space for a cassette
