I was riding my bike when it suddenly started to make noise and the gears started to stop working,
after a few rides i noticed that the chain keeps falling out of the bike.
Today this part fell out the bike, what is it and how do i fix this? Thanks to anyone who can help!

That’s a chain guard I suppose. Belongs around the crank/bottom bracket area
Edit: technically not really a chain guard but a bash guard?
lol, yikes, taht looks like a bashguard or chain guide. Supposed to be mounted on/around the bottom bracket. Great way to learn to use loctite
ISCG chain guide, no idea what it’s doing there and not attached at the bottom bracket shell where it would normally go
