Picked it up off marketplace for $80, which I sort of regretted at first because it was NOT in good condition, caked in dirt and the bottom bracket was super stiff, took it to my LBS to overhaul the bb and apparently it was full of sap or glue or something, but they got it good as new, I took it back home, stripped it down, cleaned her up, replaced the stem/bars, removed the 2 smallest chainrings and put the biggest one in the middle, greased the f out of everything, retuned the shifter/derailleur, chucked some 2.2 inch race kings on ( they just barely clear omg ) aaaaaand it rides like a freaking dream!!!! These rough Albuquerque roads feel like clouds.

It’s the best RockHopper that was ever made. I say that not bc I’ve ridden a lot of RockHoppers, but because I have had this same bike for ten years
interesting stem angle considering your seat height
