It has been used with a chain with a 1% stretch. Wide teeth look like they've started to get a groove on the drive side. Is this a no-go for a new chain ?
Looking to know whether only the cassette or also the chainring need to to be replaced when putting a fresh chain on.
Thanks a bunch.

I’d say it still got one in it

No. The chainring’s still good some juice left. And no, you should not always replace the entire drive train if you’re replacing just the chain.
People need to stop trying to visually assess their own chainrings and cogs. It’s one thing if you’re looking at used parts, but on your own friggin bike **put the new chain on it**. Do you get chain suck or chain skip? No? The ring is fine. Move on.
