That was a very nice video Dave, i know a lot of that area quite well, i was in Hartington area in 2019, and Longnor area 2018, great pubs and stayed on a campsite right beside the village with firepit hire lovely! It is frustrating when you forget something or two, it's maybe an age thing but regardless of age it's mostly because you just want to get going and the inevitable happens! I have been enjoying your videos which are new to me for short while now and look forward to seeing more as i like you sense of humour and your bike touring thanks for sharing Dave !
Another great video! I did the same trails last year with my son. That hill on the way up to the high peaks trail was hard! We dubbed it βHorror Show hillβ. Once you get to the top that ride to Parsley hay is great. ππΌ
'The observer book of quarries' made me laugh. Took me back to the 70's π . We've all done that with the water bottle and toolkit. You did right going back when you aren't local. Another great vid π
Love it round that area, you missed a really nice cafe in Hartington though, it's just opposite the pay and display car park as you enter Hartington, they do some lovely cakes π Coffee is rxc there too, we used to go there at the end of a ride for a treat. Another great video, really enjoyed it as usual ππ
That was so good, I'll probably never get back to the UK but if you ever decide to add gpx files for your rides I can dream and add them to my bucket list. Thanks for sharing your rides, they are a real treat.
Right let me say it's the first time I've seen your vids. Absolutely brilliant. Fantastic music. I'm into wild camping vids. But to combine what you do with camping is pure bliss. If only I had the balls to do it.π
Nice vid Dave. π I've got the "Lost Lanes" series of guidebooks, some good routes around there in "Lost Lanes Central" that we've mixed and matched a few years back. Nice scenery ππ»
Always enjoy your videos Dave. Great countryside around there, looked lovely. Looks like you had a few "senior moments" there, forgetting your tools and drink and not locking your bike upπ€£π we all do stuff like that at times though….. Glad it's not only me!! Great stuff. Keep it up mate. Well done π
In April, I set off on the Lincoln Imp Audax and 2.5 miles in likewise realised I'd left my water and tools in the car. Did the ride of shame back. Won't make that mistake again π !!
Eyup Dave , weβre back, weβve had a busy month working and looking after my mum etc, so weβve just returned to the sofa to sit down and catch up on your amazing vids!
This video was brilliant, we were laughing out loud at the bike lock blunder, good job you were somewhere nice and quiet, otherwise weβd have to start a go fund me page to get you another bike!! πππ Just about to watch bike packing Cheshire now. β€
I've been watching your posts for several months, and I like them. I also watch Sandy, from Wiltshire Man. He adds historical things. I'm more of a leisure cyclist, and when you was on one of the tracks, I saw all of those wild flowers!π I personally would of stopped there for a while and photographed them and tried to work out what they were?π
So pleased ive discovered you. Fantastic videos, your editing, commentary, humour are all on point. I did the NC500 in Oct this year and watching your adventure was a brilliant way to remember it all. Thank you for these…keep them coming!
Hi Dave. Recently started watching your vlogs.Loving them mate.Ravenstor was my first Youth Hostel experience with my cycling club. Not sure of the exact year but probably around 1960/61.Your vlog brought back some memories – mostly good! I'm 80 now but still cycling. In bad weather I'm on an excercise bike. It's then when I watch your footage – very helpful and I love your sense of humour..I've always kept fit cycling and running.A recence health diagnosis has "knocked my duck off" as we say but I'm keeping going with my cycling as long as I can.All the best from one Very Old Bloke to another Old Bloke,
I can't believe that I have missed watching your videos for almost 9 months! I blame it on getting a new TV which didn't have the YouTube app! Anyway, good ride there Dave. (I remember a similar incident where I forgot my puncture kit, also in the Dales, at Hope…only mine weren't just in the car!) Good stuff. Great to see you channel doing well. Well done.

Lovely ride my friend. I like the color scheme of your bike as well!
Wonderful routes, cafes and Youth Hostel. Can only imagine having so much choice of trails.

That downhill at the end is into the village of Crowdicote. Iβve ridden up it a few times, itβs a beast of a climb. 20% in places.
Riding round my local roads π
