Hi all, looking for a reality price check on a used Seven Ti road build.
I've been going down the travel-bike rabbit hole lately, so the S&S couplers are the big draw here.
I’m in a major metro area (NYC) where prices are a bit inflated, so I'm trying to gauge what's actually fair. No geo sheet available, but here are the specs:
• Frame: Titanium + S&S Couplers
• Size: 59cm ST (c-c) / 54cm TT
• Group: Campy Record 10-speed
• Cockpit/Fork: Wound Up fork + post, Chris King headset
• Wheels: Campy Nucleon
• Condition: Solid; light lever rash, typical use.
The custom dimensions make pricing a moving target but Im thinking of physically vising to do a test ride.
What’s a fair price for this in today’s market?
Appreciate the wisdom! 🙏

These are rare enough that there’s not necessarily an easy comparison to make. Particularly if the geometry is custom, it looks like that is a very short and tall bike assuming they measured properly. Having weird geometry makes it doubly niche. How tall are you?
There’s a similar bike languishing on my local Craigslist for $1400
> light lever rash
Ha. No, that’s a crash and the levers are in bad shape. Probably still usable but not “light rash.”
I think 500 USD might be a good price. Let me guess, they’re listing it for 1200?
Nice saddle
1800 seems like a lot for this. That’s about what I paid for a mint ritchey breakaway with axs.
I’d think the $800 range would be fair if it fits… Tall and short for an upright position for better or worse.
Those wound up forks had a reputation for catastrophic failure, I’d check it over really close.
It’s custom geometry.(For someone else). Who knows what wonky dimensions they wanted. Yes they give the tube lengths and angles but still. A degree here and a cm there can screw it all up for someone else
$400
That is a nice bike for sure. I doubt I would go $1800 but I would offer $1400 and see what happens.
The TI frame w/couplers is worth $500 easy. You know all the components. Take an hour and price them out on eBay using completed listings to get an idea of value. Add all that up and see what you get. All comps are for used parts so that is a fair way to get closer to a “true” price.
The parts will always be worth more than the whole but factor PITA time to actually sell the parts.
The bike appears to be tall yet shorter reach. Ti and couplers are cool, but I would be weary of the older carbon fork and seat-pole, probably fine, but it’s a higher price point so why fuck around with old carbon. I would pay $1000, maybe you can make back $500-700 selling the parts and then build up the frame… if it’s your size that is. If you like the frame, it’s a cool frame for sure. With it being so tall though the fit would have to be right.
No idea about value, but that is a gorgeous bike.
I want this bike…fuck
$750 at best.
10 speed campy, one has to wonder if the components are worn out. Seems like a lot for the frame name. The big draw was it was made for the 1st customer who owned it.
So I have a titanium frame with S&S couplers. The company made it special with couplers for me. I dropped $4500 on the frame with the couplers. This was in 2017. I probably put 10K into the bike altogether. I have ridden it across 3 countries in Europe and a whole lot in the US. It flies as checked luggage in a 26x26x10 inch box I bought from S&S. It is a joy to ride. It also is a rim brake model because I do not want to mess with hydraulics while packing and unpacking. I upgraded from SRAM Red 11 speed to SRAM Red eTap 11 speed after a few years. I ride the bike as my normal road bike and have no plans on upgrading.
If the bike fits you and you need a bike for travel, it is a deal at $1800. It should last you forever! If you are planning on getting a box for it, I would measure very carefully to make sure it fits in whatever box you are ordering. 59cm is big. I do a lot of un-assembly and assembly when traveling, including the crankset.

I think I’d pay 1000 if I was looking for that bike and it would feel fair
As someone already said it’s a custom geo for someone. If you’ve got long legs and short torso/ arms this could be heaven; if you don’t then it might be a wonky fit.
Assuming the fit is good for you (and this is the biggest IF), then I think the conundrum is this: you can probably get a more appropriate bike for less money in today’s market, but you also likely won’t be able to get an S&S bike for much cheaper. Let’s just say it’s a $500 frame with a $800 S&S coupler, plus whatever wheels and group are on there. So yeah I think $1800 is in the realm of fair, but if you don’t need it to break down for travel, then I think you can get a better bike for less.
