Hi all, I recently have been picking up on biking and have always found the fixed gear really sleek. I am looking to spend under $200 total and not looking for something super serious. and I love the used market for every other hobby i shop for.

I found this deal on marketplace and was hoping to get some opinions on if it’s a good/bad find, and most importantly- WHY?

I will primarily be riding on paved bike trails in combination with regular streets with light to moderate potholes.

Thank you to any who will take the time to look.

Listing description: “Retrospec 6061 frame, synchros bar. Had this for a long time, great and good parts on here. Comes with extra set of stra-tru wheels, rubber is still good on the reds. Need gone, obo.”

Listed for $100

  1. The fact that ur getting a full bike plus extra wheelset with rubber on is a good deal, upgraded bars is nice too id say it’s a steal, for your first fixie definitely a good start get used to riding find the right stem and fit then upgrade when you’re ready

  2. Fantastic deal, even if it doesnt fit perfectly

That second wheelset could be the start of a conversion or spare set with different tires.

Looks like a good deal if the bike fits. My first recommendation is a helmet and front brake!

Check back in after you find a bike, good luck!!

  4. That’s a great deal. A good enough starter fixie so you actually have can decide if you enjoy it or not but you’ll probably enjoy it lots!
