  1. My dh bike sits inside most of the year. I don’t feel bad about it.

If you are riding the bike and having a good time doing that, everything is good. There is no wrong way to ride your bike if you are having fun.

Do you like the bike? If it makes you happy, and you’re riding it regularly, I think that sounds great!! So long as it wasn’t a financial burden to buy.

Yeah ride it and don’t be worrying.

I ride a mtb for commuting as I like to hop curbs, pot holes. Have a rack fitted for shopping.

Nah man it’s a hardtail, you can use it for anything that’s what’s great about them.

It’s not like you’re just buying groceries at the farmers market on an enduro or downhill bike haha.

  5. Are you riding it? Then no you’re not wasting it. That’s the great thing about hardtails, they’re so versatile

If you ride it, you’re good. If you get the itch to ride trails some day, great. If you don’t, it doesn’t matter. Just ride.

Mtb doesn’t have a blueprint it is what you make it that’s part of what’s great about it.

I mean it sounds like you want to ride trails so just go ride some trails. Problem solved…

I accept gratitude in the form of cash money. 💵💰🫰

  9. Okay? then ride harder stuff ig? What even is the point of this post? You’re a grown ass man, don’t need input from strangers on the internet to validate your riding style lol

If you’re using that bike to ride on for pavement. You might be wasting energy because mountain bikes are heavier than hybrids and road bike. But who cares live your life. I love riding my mountain bike or the pavement the tire rumble makes me feel tough. But it dies shred tires, But the weight and drag is real.

Are the people driving trucks and SUVs to the grocery store wasting their cars? Their cars can do more, but they can also be driven to the grocery store.

If you want to take your bike to the trails, that’s fine and more power to you. I’d even encourage you to do that sooner or later. But if you want to ride it around town, ride it around town as much as you want.

If it’s going to make you feel better, taking it to the trails and really pushing it will wear out some of the components a bit faster than if you are just riding around town.

It’s better to have too much bike for your needs than not enough. I dig the color 👀

It’s your bike that you spend your own money on. You have zero obligation to anyone to do anything more, or less, with it than what you want to.

  14. So, mountain bikes are designed to be ridden off road, on dirt trails, in the mountains…hence their name. Are you riding it how it was meant, participating the actual sport of mountain biking? Not really. But are you having fun? Are you enjoying it? If yes, don’t worry about it!

I highly encourage you to go on actually mountain bike rides. But it’s your bike, use it however you please

  15. It’s also winter outside I guarantee you will have more use of in in spring and summer.
Also, what’s that rear rack and bag? Looks integrated and not cheap looking stuff on Amazon. Would what to have one similar to yours!

I have a hard tail just for that specific purpose, tan side walls too.  If I wanted to ride trails I’d ride my trail bike. DH park?  Being the DH bike.

You do whatever you want with your bike.  Have fun.
