  1. Flip the piece over. Position an Allen wrench on one side and a chainlink nut wrench on the other to keep it steady. While holding the nut wrench firmly in place, rotate the Allen wrench clockwise to tighten—just as you would secure a bolt and nut using two open-end wrenches.

    Use the right chain nut bolt, the one for the 1x is shorter than the one for the 3x. If doesnt move its probably loose thread, replace withe the right spec bolt

    >The chainring nut screw wrench is not enough to stop the thread from sliding. 

    As in it’s torqued up but is still loose, or won’t hold the nut in place to be able to torque? I have found myself having to use a different chainring bolt tool to get enough purchase in the past.

  3. Are you using the right chain nut bolt, the one for the 1x is shorter than the one for the 3x.
