Installing QR Adapters to my Mavic Allroad wheels. Instructions say to put this "collar" piece under the end cap if the freehub are Shimano (which I assume they are even tho they have no markings), but the collar wont go past the threads of the Freehub. Should I just ditch the collar and install the end cap without it or should I force it past the threads (or alternatively file a little bit off the edges of the collar piece)?

I used these and they were a massive pain in the arse. The trick seemed to be really ensuring a snug fit wherever I could.
I wouldn’t be surprised if those were meant for Shimano HG freehub bodies and Mavic just didn’t update their documentation. Since you have Shimano Microspline which should be smaller internally, I guess it makes sense that it wouldn’t fit. Assuming we’re talking about this graphic?
