I am trying to reassemble the seat after I uninstalled it fully by removing both screws from a Speciized Sirrus. But the top part seems to have nothing to hold it in place. Am I missing soemthing that I lost during the disassembly? I have looked around and can’t find it. I dont understand how those two screws can hold the top part in place between the seat rails.

The top part is actually the middle part. Put the round part of it in the round part on top of the post, and flip the part that’s currently bolted on.
The piece you have screwed in is upside down and the piece that is disconnected goes between the seat post and the newly flipped piece. The saddle rails go in the grooves.
The part you have attached is upside down, that is also the top piece. The other piece get held in place by friction with the saddle rails.
The part threaded into those bolts is the top, and it is upside down. The separate part is the bottom, and will fit into the shaft of the post. Unthread the top completely, place the lower portion into the shaft (it will be an obvious fit). Flip the top, and it will be in the correct configuration. Installing a saddle can take a little finagling, so keep the hardware as loose as possible to give the most wiggle room. You got this, OP!
