  1. The only image of south Dakota was the birdsview of a 1950s mid-western american town… The rest is all european… European heater models, interior design, the rooms and the accent of the narrator.
And, honestly, the info is incredibly basic, no gems that would change my first impression in understanding the differences between oil and coiled electric heaters.
I am sure most living in North Dakota know the difference as well.

  2. Eight winters ago I bought a oil-filled heater, big mistake. It stopped functioning after three weeks. So I had it replaced, same thing. I can't say enough about how an infrared heater works so good.
The oil-filled heater was a Honeywell.

  3. Heating air is very inefficient vs heating up a liquid like oil or even water. But the one thing I will note because in my shop we use both types, the heaters with an electric coil heat the air up very rapidly since they are cycling the air through the room with the fan so it feels like you can heat the air temps faster, but the oil heater will last much longer heating the area after the electricity is cut off because of all that heated oil and metal mass.

  4. Just got my first oil filled heater today and so far I like it, I've already noticed I need to set it to a lower temperature than the fan based heater it replaced, set to the same setting the house is warmer than it has been since summer so I'm trying 1 degree lower. I also sometimes need to turn my heater off if I want to use something else on the same circuit and like that these stay warm for quite a while even after being turned off, great for keeping warm while I use the circuit for something else temporarily.

  5. I bought a cheap oil radiator heater and it seemed like it didn't have any oil in it. It didn't radiate much heat even though the item was hot. But I also bought an oil heater back in the day that would have my entire basement on fire (very hot😂😂). I just bought one of those $130 life smart fireplace radiant heaters for a large room. And that thing didn't kick off much heat at all. And the room was 16 * 11 ft. A full power and the thing running all night it was still freezing in that room at a whopping 45°🤷🏾‍♂️ the only thing I like about it is the fact that it actually looks like a mini fireplace that can fit inside my actual fireplace.

  6. Hey, I'm going to stay on my boat this winter at a dock with electric. My dad keeps saying to get the oil heater which he has on his much larger yatch but my boat is very small. It's a 32 foot sailboat. I have found a Honeywell 360 fan heater and a small oil heater for the same price but I can't decide. After reading your comment about the oil leaking I'm now scared of using that type of heater so idk. I need to order it today. I can't stand weather below 75 degrees. I need the tropics 24-7

  7. I spent a couple winters with no central heat in a 90 year old house that was a bit drafty. What I loved about the oil radiator style heaters was that I could drape my blanket off the bottom of my bed, covering the top of the unit. Most of the heat had to go through my bed before dissipating into the drafty old house. I had the other kind of heater as well but they never felt safe to use while I was sleeping.
