My front derailleur cage is loose and can rotate relatively freely meaning out on a ride it drops and starts hitting the front chain ring. I can't see obviously where I should tighten this but it feels like it's only on 1 bolt or something?

Ur hanger is loose . Not the derailleur
Get the chain off. Then the derailleur on the silver hex screw. And then it’s only the hanger..I hope it has two holes and one screw is missing. If you don’t know what you’re doing go to a shop since U won’t be able to set the derailleur once it’s back on.
