🇫🇷The most picturesque village in Provence…

✨Arriving in Lourmarin feels like stepping into a postcard: cobbled lanes, pastel shutters, and lively cafés spilling onto the square. What I loved most was the atmosphere: relaxed, colorful, and undeniably Provençal.

☀️Stroll through the little streets, stop for a coffee in the shade of the plane trees, and don’t miss the Renaissance château overlooking the village. On Friday mornings, the market takes over the town and it’s one of the most vibrant in the Luberon.

🍷What I loved most here was the Friday morning market. The whole village transforms into a lively maze of colors and scents, from fresh produce and cheeses to olive oils and Provençal fabrics. It’s the kind of place where you want to wander slowly, taste everything, and let time slip away.

🗺️Easily reachable by car: about 40 minutes from Aix-en-Provence. Perfect for a half-day trip, or combine it with nearby Cucuron and Ansouis.

  1. it really IS this good or better. We stayed in Ansouis which is a short drive away – you'd think, as a Brit, that you've landed in heaven until you visit Lourmarin. We went back a few times during our 2-week stay – trying different restaurants – and they were all amazing. I am really not over-selling it. Roussillon is also breathtaking. If it wasn't for the cold winters in Provence, we'd have bought here instead of the Costa del Sol. Its perfect !
