  1. Major-Document3714 on

Plus 1 on the carbon rims. And make sure you are tubeless. I also eventurally upgraded the brakes to ceramic due to wear on the pistons…big improvement. Mine is an S-works so it started out prtety upgraded. But look to that (Raceface Next SL cranks etc).

  2. Really just see how and where you like to ride it, the fatboys were pretty well setup. I thought I’d want a dropper post and a suspension fork for dirt, over a decade later and still haven’t bothered.

I used the Ground Control tires for years on my Fatboy SL and they were great as a 3-season tire and okay in snow. If you’re in snow (given the photo) the 45nrth Dillinger 5 is a great upgrade for winter. The carbon HED Big Deals on my SL are awesome and incredibly easy to setup tubeless, but the aluminum Big Deals are also light and super easy to do tubeless and more budget friendly. I won’t run any other rims on my fatbikes. The other surprising upgrade for snow and bikepacking was switching to a high engagement hub, such a game changer for hard starts on soft snow/drifts or when loaded, I have the I9 Hydra.
