Putting together a new build, just got the chain on and I’m hearing this sound from the hub (brand new odyssey v2 clutch) any idea what I could be?
As you can see chain isn’t tight, and before putting the chain on the cranks were operating smoothly so doubt that’s the cause, any suggestions?

I was getting a noise and realized it was the chain hitting the guard, so I had to grind off a little bit of the edge of the guard. Chain looks like it’s maybe a little loose too, could be the reason it’s smacking the guard? Maybe remove guard and see if noise persists? I’ve also had a Chain that had stiff links that were giving me noises similar as well in the past, that’s why I don’t run halflinks anymore. Check chain for any binding?
It’s the chain engaging with the rear cog. The sound is amplified by resonating through the rear wheel.
Had the exact same problem, had my shop fox the hub guard and problem was fixed
