My 2-year-old daughter rides a balance bike and wears a Schwinn infant helmet. We’ve noticed that her chin frequently gets caught in the buckle, pinching her skin. Is this a common issue with this helmet? Are there better toddler helmets available, especially ones with magnetic buckles that are safer and easier to use?

How old is that helmet? It looks pretty worn out.
I don’t know of magnetic clasp kids helmets, but the Bern toddler helmet we have for our 2 year old has the clasp on the side well out of the way of his chins and haven’t had pinching issues.

Little hard to understand what’s happening here – that buckle style is pretty typical for inexpensive helmets, and is usually fine. Do you mean she gets pinched when you click the buckle in place? If so, practice putting your finger between the buckle and her skin when you fasten it.
When already fastened, it shouldn’t be pinching anything, assuming it’s not broken.
Woom makes a great helmet. Nutcase used to make the best, especially for the price. But they no longer exist.
There’s solutions to this. I know of two:
1. Get a helmet with a fidlock buckle – this like a magnetic clasp.
2. My kids have a Met Hooray. This comes with a ratchet clasp, that specifically avoids this problem.
