look like alu, look at the welds and the dropouts
Based on the size of the tubes and the shape of the welds, that’s an aluminum bicycle and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with an aluminum bicycle.
I believe that’s a 1997 Hardrock AX.
Aluminum frame. Solid bike.
Absolutely aluminum. Not that it mattered, but it says AX on the top tube (right next to the Hardrock) which was the denomination of their cheap aluminum tubes bitd.
But absolutely overpriced at 150 €, too. Cheap parts and quill stem in 97 were entry level even 29 years ago.
Was cheapest line of Mountainbikes, doesn’t look well-kept and might need service – which you wouldn’t see from the pictures.
Aluminum doesn’t age well, but these were made in 97 so 10 years of experience with the material, and it’s heavy thick-walled tubing so I’d expect it to last.
Would still recommend a steel Rockhopper or highest line Hardrock which you should easily find for the price.
This will not be selling quickly at 150, and can be found at around 50 – 80 € usually.
Try to stick a magnet to it.
