Found this on my local marketplace. Just looking to get some opinion I was thinking about buying a new frameset to upgrade from my converted road bike, but this seems like it may be a good option.
This is the ad description:
This here is a thoroughly rebuilt 2017 model State 4130. 62cm frame for the tall. If you're under 6' it'll be too big.
I've done it all with this steed. It's been a commuter, alleycat whip, 'drome bike, and even been used in a handful of cross races. It's been my ride or die since I bought it new in 2019. Over that time I have replaced everything except the bottom bracket and drive side crank.
Typical signs of use, but no rust and it's as bomb proof as ever.
Selling because I'm getting old, I have a kid on the way, and riding brakeless seems like a poor life choice at this point.
Highlights of the build:
Chris King Headset (discontinued colour)
Hand built wheels
— Front is a vintage Araya BMC hub laced to NOS Mavic ceramic rim
— rear is more utilitarian, novatec hub and Mavic A113.
Classic bend Nitto drops
I could swap out the bars for some Surly Open Bars I have and throw in a front brake and flat pedals if that's what you're after.
Go ahead and make an offer, but I'm in no hurry to sell. Low balls will be ignored . But I'll part with it for considerably cheaper if you don't want that CK headset.

Fuck no – I would be hard pressed to buy it for a tenth of the price
you can get a better deal for sure. if you like the bike, 450 usd isn’t that outrageous but i’d also say that if this is your first know you’re gonna end up swapping a lot of parts for what you end up wanting. if price is your concern, you can find horizontal dropout frames for ~150 cad on craigslist or the equivalent
