See Wool Felt Grips. Somewhat DIY – Rivendell Bicycle Works
These make a sort of odd sense. I've been tempted, at times, to cover modern plastic tape with traditional cloth bar tape, which I rode gobs of thousands of miles on. I like the feel of cloth tape. But direct wool? Unusual. Curious. Maybe wool overlain by traditional cloth tape.
Let me know. Can't promise I'll try, but I might. Probably have to get a tie-dyed, flower-power cycling kit!!!

Yeah, that’s like peak r/xbiking stuff. I’m sure people there have tried it and can tell you if it really works outside Grant’s imagination or not.
Pass. Seems like it would turn disgusting quickly.
Who is using plastic grips? This is peak Rivendell sniffing their own farts. Now we just need Jan Heine’s pseudoscience to come in and “prove” that it’s better, Velo Orange to outsource production to the lowest bidder, and Bicycle Pubes trashing them all to complete the alt-bike circle of life.
I have some, but haven’t tried them yet.
I bought these and put them on some swept back bars, and wrapped over them with newbaums cloth tape. Personally really like it!
