My dad got me this Merlin bike back in the mid 2000s when I enjoyed road biking. I'm ready to part with it, but I don't know anything about the model or what it's worth.
Merlin Ti, serial number from this era should be stamped on the inside of one of the rear dropouts. It looks like an earlier one, possible pre-exodus circa ‘97 when most of the talent left. My guess is mid to late 90s with the threaded 1” HS.
That might be a replacement fork but the headtube looks Ok and that TI shit is strong as hell. It might have been the stock fork if it was more early/mid 90s, I don’t remember but if the HS moves fluidly it’s probably fine but worth doing some checks before selling.
Sadly the 3x road drivetrain is kinda outdated and those Mavic wheels ain’t anything special. If this thing needs some work to function properly it could be pretty expensive to replace these wear parts and some of the components.
Also, have you ever had the bottom bracket replaced while you have owned it? With TI bikes this is a common mistake when assemblers neglect to use anti-seize on TI as the BB cups will cold fuse to the shell threads over long periods of time and that looks like the stock crank on that bike.
You could try to sell this as a complete but it’s potentially gonna be difficult. I’d almost recommend stripping it to the frame and parting it out if you want to maximize $$. You could probably get the same amount for this frame on EBay as you’d be able to selling complete locally.
My best guess is $400-700 maybe +-100 for condition/market. Frame is prob an easy 500 and then parting everything else out and dealing with that might depend on how much your time is worth.
