New to cycling and need a bike for a triathlon in 6 months time. Is this second hand Scott cr1 a better buy than a brand new bike such as a trek domane al2 , cube attain or boardman slr 8.9 ? With salary sacrifice they both work out at around the same cost of ~€500.

Just to add to this , another second hand option is a Planet X pro carbon with ultegra group set and vision wheel set
That’s a solid bike. You can get more bike for less used, assuming it’s been well kept, which this one seems to be.
The benefit of a newer bike is that it’ll be easier to find new parts should you be interested in updating and upgrading your bike.
