I’ve been dreaming about this exact frame for years. I was only able to afford it now (got it at a 60% discount), but I still ended up splurging on the components. I think it’s worth it—I fall in love with it every time I see it, even more than my previous bikes (I’ve had six enduro bikes in the past).

Specs:

2022 S-Works Enduro S4

RockShox Vivid Air Ultimate

RockShox ZEB Ultimate 3.1

Shimano XT Di2 M8200 groupset

Magura MT5 w/ HC1 levers

RockShox Reverb AXS dropper

WTB rims and saddle

DT Swiss 350 hubs

Vittoria Mostro/Mazza tires

Title handlebar and stem

Shimano Saint pedals

Cost me around $4,800, all brand new.

I love the bike overall, even though it’s not my most comfortable size (I’m 5’9”). The only downside is a clanking noise on square hits and consecutive impacts that’s driving me crazy. I’ve investigated extensively, and removing the chain and rear derailleur seems to eliminate the noise—so it’s most likely chain slap and derailleur tension from pedal kickback.

After some research, I’m thinking an Ochain and/or a chain guide with tension might solve the problem. Any tips or ideas would be appreciated.

  1. Ya that’s pretty much perfect. Congrats man. I have a stumpy Evo that has a lot of chain slap too. I’m thinking of getting this https://stfubike.com. I hear it works well. What other enduros did you have? My stumpy Evo is 160/170 but I’m thinking of getting a true enduro especially now that I ride park fairly often.
