Let’s say theoretically I wanted to put long grips on my DJ to the length of the red circle (not as long as the grips on my fixie behind it)…what theoretically would be the best way to place the brake? Do they make larger clamps so I could clamp over the grip? (Preferable). Or, should I just (ew) cut a small slice out of the grip where I want the brake? Just getting some second opinions!

dont clamp over anything, just cut the grip into two pieces (if foam) or buy 2
Wrap with bar tape?
Depending on how you like your bikes to look you could always wrap the bars with foam road bike tape and wrap over the brake clamp. It’s unusual but I think bike packers with alt bars go this route.
Look into track bar grips. I recommend Yoshida Champ grips, especially the Type C/4mm grips. They’re 165mm (6.5″) long.
Flair up! Wait… thought this was r/nfcnorthmemewar with all the red circles
