I spent about a month looking at all the brake options out there and searching daily for deals. I came across a pinkbike ad for a set of Magura MT7 pro with the rotors in 220/203. They were sub 300$. I pulled the trigger and bought them.
Everything I read on here has included bleed nightmares, no power, piston issues, leaks, dead lever etc etc.
I installed them myself. Watched a few IG bleed tips and bled them direct through the lever with no adapter. Straight syringe. Keep in mind I had to cut hoses to install.
I don’t know what everyone is complaining about. There is literally slim to no lever gap before engagement ( which is my preference ) and the power to lock the wheels easily. Compared to the code RSC I had on my bike these are a considerable improvement.
Just wanted to say I believe it’s all about how you set them up. My pads don’t rub. Simply aligned the caliper to the rotor and tightened. No complaints.

I hate how the levers explode whenever they touch anything other than your fingers.
Other than that, mt7s are fantastic!
watching to see how long it takes you to start asking about the Shigura conversion.
They’re fantastic the 20% of the time they work. They’re just a bit outdated imo. Had them on my DH bike. They were worth the hassle a few years ago, but now there’s other brakes that work just as well without the headaches.
They also glaze a ton, and that was my biggest issue with them.
