I want to purchase a Weis bike and saw they have Tier kits on their website for their builds and was wondering if the price for all these components is fair?
Just thinking if it’s less of a hassle to get these components from Weis instead of sourcing my own.

definitely not lol
My reply is no
Nah, 5000 for a bike you’ll probably not ride often and hate yourself if you wreck it, no thanks.
Wow. That’s gonzo. I can’t say if you’d be better off sourcing your own but that’s a hell of alot of money for a fixie. That said, Weis is one of the best builders out there so you are getting pretty much top tier when it comes to fixies.
This would be like going into Flight club and paying $5,000 for some sneakers. It’s crazy how far some of these companies go to rob you, just because they have the hype train behind them.
If I had 5k to spend on a bike I’d be trying to call Koichi Yamaguchi
Sounds about right for a custom made in USA bicycle.
Honestly most of that cost is the handmade frame/the years of experience that went into making that frame. Shit don’t come cheap.
But yes, it’s still a lot of money.
The price given is pretty much the msrp of all the parts included (Prices taken from retrogression) so its not like you are getting ripped off. That being said, sourcing parts may be a hassle but, at least in my opinion, its also a big part of the fun. If you don’t care and just want to drop 5k on a bike then go for it. These parts are all super solid and are basically what I have built my own personal bike up with. Just note Velocity Ailerons are not compatible with brakes.
If you’re absolutely in love w the frame I’d jsut get the frame and start there
Buy the frame, choose components separately!
