Relatively new to biking. Was doing a quick release on my tires and this piece broke. Do I need to replace before I bike again? Any cost estimates? Thanks all 🙁
Yes, because when you go to put the brakes back together that’ll turn sideways in the bracket and pop out.

Called a “V-Brake Noodle”. Shouldn’t be more than a couple of bucks.
IF and only IF it still stays retained in the hinged bit, I’d ride it until the new part arrives. But I would adapt my riding, aka ride slower etc.
Good opportunity to learn how to replace a brake cable, as you’ll need to snip/pull off the cable end cap anyway.

Check out the Park Tools YouTube page for how to videos on everything. New to biking, but soon you’ll be a pro

Thanks all! I decided I’d rather let a pro handle it — ran right over to Velocity bike shop in Del Ray. 15 bucks later and I’m on my way. If you’re in the DMV, can’t recommend them more!!
