Hi, I want to buy my first gravel bike, and I found the Bergamont Grandurance 20, which is currently discounted from €1,800 to €1,500.
I want a well equipped bike that can fit 50 mm tires, can support my weight of 120 kg, and this one is one of the few that meets my criteria.
Is Bergamont a reliable brand?
What do you think about this particular model?

Yes, they’re quite popular in Hamburg, Germany where they’re based but they are big enough now that they have quite a big support network now.
I think it’s pretty good. It comes with 45mm tires but should have clearance for 50mm. The 2022 model did and I can’t imagine that this one has less. If anything, more is the trend.
The only caveat is that it still uses a proprietary derailleur hanger.
Looks good! But having MOIN MOIN on my bike would somewhat bother me lol
The Brand is owned by Scott. Should be reliable. They sell some more relaxed bikepacking and commuting focused bikes.
The only warning I’d give is it says the max load is 130KG (which is for bike, rider, and accessories), so you’re right at the limit. I’m sure they have a buffer built in to that number, but if you think there’s a possibility you may gain weight or start loading with luggage, I’d take that into consideration.
Yes. These things are bombproof. I’ve had one for ages and I still love it, many new bikes later.
I’ve had my grandurance 8 early last year, can’t wait to get back to longer rides on it, I really like it but have nothing to compare it with. I just heard from the bike shop that the frame on it has had the same geometry for quite some time and that I would definitely fit 50 on it, just asked them last weekend when handing it in for maintenance.
