    It’s a fixed gear (only one gear), which is not typical for a drop bar “road bike”. It only has one brake, and I can’t even see that it’s connected.

    This isn’t ideal for a newbie.

  2. Kind of depends what you’re going to use it for. Starting track racing? Commuting and locking up outside. Just tooling around on? For $200 it’s probably fine. If you’re new to riding a single speed or fixed gear, you’ll get used to it but it isn’t for everyone. It looks like it’s setup for easy spinning. It’s a pretty standard entry level ss/track bike. If it’s in decent shape, you won’t have to worry about it for $200. If you want to do long rides or a lot of climbing this probably won’t be what you’re looking for.
