Big fan of my canyon spectral.

Pedals well & I’ve never felt underbiked here in western North Carolina (including bike parks). It’s tough for me to say – but I’ve actually got better customer service through canyon than I have at any LBS.

If I was in the market for a new bike, I’d probably get another spectral.

The bike media world seems to agree as well 🙂

Propain Tyee, super efficient climber, or the Spindrift but that’s basically a freeriding bike

  3. Hightower v4 is the tits.

Climbs good, and is an absolute ripper on the downhill. I’ve put about 800 miles or so on mine since I got it last May and it’s been to Moab (WE), Grans Junction (free lunch, ribbon, holy cross) and all kinds of places on the CO front range and it’s been amazing everywhere.

I was going to demo the new Stumpy and a Sentinel but one demo ride on the HT and I was sold.

FWIW my last bike was a Commencal Meta TR and it was a great bike too, but heavy AF, and I blew through the rear travel on the chunkier stuff here in CO often. I wanted something with more rear travel and lighter and the HT fit that bill perfectly.

Propain Tyee or Propain Spindrift. Tyee for better pedaling, Spindrift for more fun downhill.

As Trailbike Forbidden Druid (150/130mm). One of the coolest trailbikes I have ridden

  5. Hightower. Gen 4 rides a like a short legged Megatower compared to gen 3 Hightower.

Plus lifetime bearing warranty, frame warranty, and most build kits come with reserve wheels now which means lifetime warranty on the alloy rims.

  6. Yeti 160. Especially if you ride aggressively on the front of the bike. Good if you ride centered terrible if you hang off the back.

There’s just something about a Santa Cruz. The Hightower is such a freaking cool bike, I’d love to own one.

Ripmo or Hightower. Splitting hairs here but I prefer the Ripmo because it has no limitations on seatpost length and it’s lighter. Hightower descends a tad better with the Ripmo being a bit more efficient. Both are nearly perfect otherwise.
