Hi everyone,
I’m currently riding an Endurace in size M. It feels like it fits, but right on the upper limit and slightly on the big side. I’m thinking about switching to an Aeroad and I’m unsure about the sizing. What do you think, should I stick with M or size down?

It reads as you have written the answer to your question right there.
My measurements are pretty much identical, I went with S and couldn‘t be happier
Im also 178-180 (depends when you measure) and 86 length. My fitter told me that I should take size M, because S will make the geo even more aggressive.
I’m also not sure which one I should get, but I consider getting the M size as recommended.
When in doubt, take the smallest version. It is easier to fit from a smaller bike size than from a size up, you will always be uncomfortable in a size up.
Don’t worry about sizing, I’m XS for 171cm, my only issue is that here in Denmark, everyone is so tall it is rare to have the size in second hand 😁
Go for S and upgrade to the Aero Drops with the longer reach
Ignore auto-answers like “when in doubt, size down” without even looking at the geometry. That’s a significant purchase. Go to a bike fitter, they will be able to tell you exactly.
As someone who is 84/175 I highly recommend you to go with S
Im not sure if this is really the place to look for help…go to a canyon store and try bikes out and see what would be best for you. And im sure the employees there are happy to help you with everything and they know what to look out for
