Was cycling into work today, on the flat.
Felt a tad wobbly, as if I'd got a rear flat.
Pulled over to the side of the road to find this!

Bought second hand, thankfully the owner transferred registration to me.

Hoping I can get in touch with brompton for repair under the 7 year frame warranty.

Long as you’ve got the warranty you’ll be covered no issues, just unfortunate you’ll be without bike while it’s fixed.

This exact failure has been reported by t and p line often enough that I check mine here and there.

  3. I think this is the first time I’ve seen it reported on the advanced steel C line rear triangle which is concerning if true.

  4. I am curious, you noted C Line, however from the photo, the rear frame gives appearance of being titanium. It has been that the titanium rear frames have fractured just as in the photo. As a test, a magnet will not stick to the titanium rear frames. What have you been able to determine with a magnet ?

  5. Has anyone else noticed that most of the frame stay failures are on black stays?

It’s almost always a black colored stay.
