Hey all,

Got the aforementioned bike about a month ago, been coasting around, got it over the 62 mile warranty provided and then bam, half way home from work wondering why my speed is significantly hampered, had earphones in so didn’t hear it. Got off and saw my tire completely flat.

Got home 2 miles later pushing it, inspected the tire and I believe I identified that at the wall of the rubber where it meets the rim, an inch size escape of air occurs. It’s sizable enough that I have to continuously push air into the tire for me to feel the air escaping it. Better yet it’s right near the air valve, so cue 10 minutes of me ensuring the valve didn’t break.

Now that my story time rambling is over, any suggestions on what I can do to fix it? I’ve heard that when dealing with the portion of a tire where the rubber is affixed to the rim that a new “tube?” (Not familiar with the terminology sorry) is required. Support just says to send it in so they can inspect it but I sort of need it to get to work and stuff. Picture attached is location of where I identified where the leak is.

Some maintenance I’ve done to the tires as well to help any would be troubleshooters in my endeavor: Inflated related (front) tire 5 days ago, inflated unrelated (back) tire yesterday and lubed chain.

I appreciate any help and advice on what I can do to maybe repair my tire. Thank you!

There is no rubber part of your tire or your inner tube that is affixed to your wheel rim. You will need a patch kit for a butyl rubber inner tube. And some tire levers. YouTube videos are your friend. You may need new inner tube if you cannot fix the current one. Good luck.

You should learn how to change a flat tire. This is a good opportunity so you can be better prepared if it happens again. I’d recommend watching some videos and giving it a try. You can also head to a bike shop, im sure they’d change it for $30ish
