Hi, I've upgraded the brakes on my mountain bike, and I've noticed that on the rear and front the pad seems to only be contacting half of the rotor. I've tried to get some good angles to show, hopefully they are fine.
How much of an issue is this and what are the remedies?
Thanks in advance 🙂

I may be wrong, but it looks like one of your pads in particular is higher in the caliper than the other one. I’d first check to see if your safety pin / safety bolt is fully engaged and holding both brake pads in place.
Edit: hold up, i think the +20mm adapter for your front brake caliper is flipped the wrong way. Do you see an arrow on the adapter? It should be pointing in the direction of the rotor’s rotation.
Did you align the calipers to the rotors?
Caliper sits too high, wrong size adapter?

There are 2 shapes of Shimano MTB pad and they need 2 different style of Shimano rotor – if you upgraded the calipers without changing the rotors they may not be compatible
