Hi, I know literally nothing about bicycles. I’m just looking for a good bike to get me around my college campus/for some exercise. The description says “completely refurbished with new tires, tubes, chain, and cables. This bike was made in the USA before Schwinn sold out.”
Any advice appreciated!! I’ve only got like $300 to spend for it right now, so I’m pretty keen on finding one. Thank you!

Many better/comparable bikes for cheaper.
Not a great deal. The seller is trying to cash in on an audience that goes for vintage stuff more than for a good bike. Keep looking. Maybe someone else has a different opinion.
as far as bikes are concerned, this is an ok deal.
way too easy for folks to dismiss the price since they “occasionally” find better deals, but honestly, you cannot get a brand new $200 that would be better than this.
the modern equivalent to this would cost $400-450
Giant Escape, Haro Bridgeport, Electra Loft would be examples of what is essentially the “now” version of this bike
the seller labelled it Schwinn, but it is GT with not fancy but still undeniably robust and dependable drivetrain. the fact that the seller got the brand name wrong and listed 28 instead of 700c as the tire size might be a red flag, but many casual bike owners often mislabel things. this listing gives iff the vibe that the seller is not sneaky, just not well versed in bike nomenclature
ive seen posts about folks bringing this model back out from the garage after years of neglect and immediately find out how simple yet fun it is

id ask the seller $150 to be fair, as new tires, chain, tubes, and cables have been installed. Call the am ask who serviced it.
really, its a solid bke. and the price is fair in the sense that the neither the seller and owner will feel ripped off. But still, ask for $50 off, just to see what you can get. spend that $50 on lights or lock.
anyone that says a much better bargain is out there, you better have a damn link in your response, otherwise you’re just blowing smoke up OPs ass
