  1. when I see commenters say rivendells are terrible designs and they can build a better bike for $300, this is how I imagine they ride.

Looks comfy though. Like the bike equivalent of Velcro orthopaedic walking shoes.

What terrain do you cover with these bars? Just pavement/commuting?

Looking for ideas for my next bike packing/touring build

That is a lot of pipe. Hope it is not steel, as that is almost an entire frame’s worth

Honestly anytime I see a cockpit like this I just imagine that you’re the type to throw money at parts instead of a professional bike fit.

But go on being bitter about the circle jerk post highlighting your bars.

  5. Nice to see somebody recyling the old european butterfly bars. Every coop usually has a bin full of them because the older generations that have moved over to ebikes and this is often what they had upgraded to in the 2000s and 2010s. So we remove them a lot when we recycle those 90ies bikes.

I think the Thriathlon forward position with the elbows resting on the ergo grips is my favourite new position.

I do agree that the standard grip is not icdeal being so narrow. I also feel that any standard position where the brakes are mounted should have some backsweep. This is like pushing a shopping cart. sømething in between a wheelbarrow and a shopping cart is a much more natural and comfortable hand position.
