Hi,
Finishing up my bike build. Image 2 shows the gap between the front 42T chainring and the chainstay. It is only approx. 2mm. Is this gap too small? There is a bit of flex in the frame, though i've yet to take it for a ride.
I am using this chainring: WUZEI 110BCD from aliexpress which I now see has a 3mm offset.. which i'm assuming means it's 3mm closer to the frame ?
It's a magene p515 24mm crank with a T47 BB. Doesn't look like there's any room for spacers.
I'm thinking I could either buy another 42T chainring with no offset, or get a 40T chainring which won't be as close to the chainstay?
opinions appreciated, thanks.

It seems like a question of frame flex, I’d just put some m3 clear film there and see what happens
do some allout sprints and check for scratches. i have the same chainring on my chinse gravel with r7000 cranks, but had to reduce the offset by 2mm to get it working
Your frame is built with a specific gearing and max chainring size in mind. What is it? There is your answer.
That crankset chainline is 44.25 mm typical road chainline which quite certainly doesn’t need 3 mm offset ring: 44.25-3=41.25 (very low by any standard – single speed / track bike range).
