Bicycling magazine wrote an article where discussed the fact that many women cyclist had so much pain from cycling that they got surgery on their privates. Maria Parker who is the owner of Cruzbike recumbents wrote a comment there saying cycling doesn’t have to be painful. They deleted the comment. I don’t know why people have so much hate on the recumbent.

Add aero bars. Those are the most relaxed for your hands.

You can go full organic and eco-friendly by using antlers.
I choose a bike and handlebars that put me in a position with virtually no weight on the handlebars unless I intentionally lean into them.

Let your partner know and see if they are open to trying different positions.

For me it was a saddle issue. Once you are sitting properly you should not have much weight on your hands. One of my bikes I can’t fix it due to wrong size so i always feel like falling over bars and putting too much pressure on my wrists and hands.

Get a professional bike fit.
Put a second stem with a set of drops below that
Drop Bar extenders and you can probably fit TT aero bars in there as well.
Or maybe you are serious.
Add some bar ends to the bar ends!
I would stop whatever the hell this is and run something that works
Could be gripping too tight, maybe try to loosen up a little. Heavy feet, light hands
