hi first time a flat and i am a beginner i saw a video how to remove the front wheel and change the tube so i order the kit and spares from brompton site but now i am in doubt if i need to replace the tire or not so i attached the photo of the wheel and the culpado piece of glass it was imbedded i remove it by hand from outsides , what do You think?

  1. Oh god in London if I replaced my tires with every nick like that I would be replacing them as quickly as the tubes.

    I actually don’t know when these become a problem unless they look like they are tearing and I run my tyres at 100ish psi.

    But I would ride on that, just give then a once over every tyre change or wash.

  2. check around the tires inside and outside for any other glass strays. dont use your bare hand to feel any sharp object, or else u gonna get a cut. once clear of any stray object, put the new tube in, pump it partially. seat the tyre properly on its beads, fully pump it up. next time get a thin tip ‘alligator’ plier to pluck out sharp objects from the tyre. patch the old tube and use it as spare. good luck

  3. i wouldn’t replace them yet. i would make sure to carefully he k the inside if the tire for any other sharp debris
