Hi all, while transporting this saddle home, it was in the same bag as a bottle of chain lubricant (RocRide Eco-X to be exact). The chain lubricant was leaking and soaked into the side of the saddle. It doesn't seem like there's much of an effect on the leather quality as of now, but I'm pretty bummed about how it looks.

What are my options to deal with the dark spot? Is it at all possible to remove the oil? Could I stain the rest of the saddle to match the color of the dark spot? Would putting a small amount of the same oil onto the rest of the saddle this be really bad? Thanks in advance

Caveat: my main experience is dying shoes not saddles, but the processes will be the same. You might be able to get some of it out with a leather dye stripper (e.g. https://amzn.eu/d/i1BxAsT) and / or cleaning with saddle soap. You can certainly dye the saddle a darker colour to make it less obvious, gain there’s tonnes of leather dyes that are easy to apply.
