I am making this for people like me who are in between adults and kids sizes because they are so small. In my 30s I am 5’1” and only weigh 110lbs at most with a 22” helmet measurement. Finding a helmet was tough although my goals were simple: find a helmet that was protective but didn’t look like a Spaceballs helmet on my small frame. I hope this helps people choose the proper size for them!
After a frustrating search trying to find size references for fit, I decided on the featherweight. Because it is in-mold, the likelihood that the overall size would be smaller was high. Plus it just looks good. So I ordered the plain black one in size S/M because I should be at the more snug side of that helmet’s fit.
When I got it, I was a bit sad to find that even with the thicker padding inserts in, it was still way loose on me and sat a little low to my eyebrows. I initiated a return (danscomp) but still thought about how to make it work since it didn’t look painfully large on me, like helmets usually do.
My solution: I used no-iron hem tape to stick both pad inserts together and wear it like that. Fit is a bit snug currently, but it is brand new and those crappy inserts always compress. Canceled my return.

The featherweights are overall not a great fit, the large/xl crushes my head, and I do not have a large head! I take a medium in pro-tec!
I’m very similar in head size as you and I use an 8ball skate helmet ( kid size) along with a head rag. It’s saved my brain in a big way . Fits great
