I dont know what country your in, but in the us you’d be wrong for more than 1 reason.

First off, I’m glad you are okay. I hope the bike is okay as well.
Looks like you were going too fast for conditions and in the wrong place for those speeds.
In my opinion the driver should have looked left, but if you were driving to the conditions you likely could have avoided the contact.

I can’t tell if you’re in a segregated bike lane. If you were then he should be checking before turning in, but if not then I’d say the majority of blame is on you.

Is that a bike lane? I think the car is in the wrong no matter what because they turned into you. Can’t quite hear what he says but it sure looks like he’s more worried about the car than the human being he just hit, which is grim.

Regardless of who’s wrong or right this is why I don’t speed on sidewalks, you can’t trust any driver to know how to drive

Yep, I agree with the other poster, there are few things you are doing wrong. The car even signaled giving you plenty of time to slow down.

Chalk it up as a learning opportunity. People make mistakes, even if they checked the blind spot you may be missed. You can be both “right” and “dead”.
Slow down in high traffic areas, especially in poor weather.
Edit: grammar

Because you were going so fast , i’m willing to bet he did check his blind spots but you were too far back. By the time the turn was initiated you kept your speed and he blocked your route. I always assume no car can see me ever (despite my lights) so I naturally slow down around them, ESPECIALLY if it’s rainy
hope you’re okay though

Yes, the driver should have checked their blind spots. However, from this vantage point we can see that you can tell he is going to turn from many meters back and so you could have predicted that he wasn’t likely to see you. You could have at least slowed which would have given you the opportunity to stop before being hit. It’s not about right or wrong, it’s about being smart on the roads and being safe. You were not riding in a way that allowed you to be safe.

If it’s legal to ride on the sidewalk where you are then I would say it’s his fault.

Where im from youre in the wrong on a few different levels
1. You’re not riding your bike on the sidewalk at a safe speed. You’re a threat to pedestrians when youre being reckless in a shared space
2. You’re riding entirely too fast for conditions. Only you are responsible for your safety, and you dont seem to honestly care about it.
3. Every driveway is considered an intersection and should be treated as such. A car can come from the driveway to the street or from the street to the driveway at any time. You need to be able to stop in case of an emergency.
Respectfully, this is entirely on you.

I’m a cyclist and an advocate 100%.
If he passed you and then cut you off, it’s a debate of a dick move vs. a visibility issue. The blind spot argument is invalid. You were on the sidewalk on a bike. Traffic isn’t supposed to be coming in his same direction at speed.

A few things. You weren’t driving you were riding. Driving is done in a car. Secondly, right or not you were stupid. You can see an intersection, you can see a car that isn’t going the speed limit so they are more likely to make a turn. You are approaching a side road and they clearly started turning. Why were you not braking? Being right doesn’t help you when you’re in an ambulance and your bikes wrecked.
