  1. Depends on how low/high you want your bars. From factory, your steerer tube is probably too long and needs a lot of spacers to be able to install the stem properly. Your desired stack height might be lower than that. Since this is going to be used in time trial, the lower the stack the more aero you will be. However, it all depends on your bike fit.

    But it all comes down to whether you understand the correct bike fit for you.

    As many or as few as it takes to put the height at a comfortable level for you. The whole steer tube needs to be covered with something — either stem or spacers between the head tube and the top cap. Only cut the steerer tube after you’re sure of your fit. Spacers can go below or above the stem for now.

  4. I can’t edit my post but I’m not talking about the carbon spaces that set the stem height. Sorry for any confusion I described what I’m talking about in a comment response
