That seems like a decent price, but that’s also a very stiff, aggressive-positioned race bike. That part makes it not great for a beginner.

I’m a little less impressed by the price, Allez is their entry level road bike and I’m unable to find any information at all on radsport, so I assume those are no-name Chinese Carbon, so I’d say this is a fair price but not really a bargain

If you’re a beginner that wants to get into fast group rides or racing, yeah 100%. Absolutely perfect.

I would whip out my trusty chain wear checker and see if the chain is still in spec. And I’d ask about miles and how often the chain has been replaced (they wear out.) if the chain is worn I’d be asking for a couple of hundred bucks off.
I have a bike with the same frame design. I call it “dancer” because it’s, umm, agile. A bit twitchy, actually. If this is your first bike like this you would be wise to practice bike handling, especially slow riding and uphill starts. And skip the “look, ma, no hands” thing.

Yes. That’s a solid bike.
People make far too big of a deal about what kind of bike it is imo. As long as it’s a good fit, that’s a bike you could use for years.

It’s not a bad bike but not at that price tbh
It’s quite racy tho so if you have to be a bit flexible and/or young.
For that price I would want Ultegra

This is a good price for the bike if it’s mechanically in good shape. However, as others have said, it’s a very stiff aggressive race frame. If you get it, expect to be uncomfortable at first. You will need to build up the supporting muscles for the position this bike will put you in.

My first bike was an Allez Comp and I never had any regrets with it. They also left you some steering tube so you can likely fit it well if the frame size is correct.

Depends on the location of the compression plug in that steerer.
I’m 50 and been a mountain biker my whole life but in July last year I bought an Allez Sprint to get into road riding (mostly for fitness). I modified it a lot over time but now I mostly ride an SL8 Tarmac. The SL8 is a lot more compliant than the Allez, but the Allez is a savage little thing that feels so fast and fun to ride. I can’t bring myself to sell it, it’s a great bike and will always hold value because IYKYK.

I got mine brand new last year. It still gives me the biggest smile whenever i get on to ride it, so i would say yea, go for it. Some may say the geometry is too aggressive, but i have lower back issues and it is still comfortable to ride for 2-3 hour sessions.

Just worried about that fork. Does anyone know if that’s original?

I agree with the statements claiming this bike might be still and aggressive.
These two characteristics could be critical for making you dislike road cycling.

I’d offer them $600. It’s probably been up for a while at $1,000 and in this economy it’ll sit for a while longer especially through the winter. It’s nearly 10 years old, and the pics from a distance makes you envision a mint bike but I bet it has some wear and tear. If they want to offload fast, they’ll take your offer and $600 is still a good chunk of cash.
