Basically a car did not yield to me. Normally I can see this coming from a mile away but the way they were slowing down got me thinking they saw me. Until I was in front and they sped up again.. Managed to minimize a hit to my derailleur by swerving away so they hit a fraction later.

I will go to a bike shop anyways but just curious what you guys think.

A car clipped my rear wheel today, is this fixable by adjusting the spokes or do I need a new wheel?

Should be very fixable. My bike was whacked hard enough to crack my chainstay with a road treasure screwdriver recently and the impact knocked my rear wheel way more out of true than that and it was an easy fix with spoke adjustment on a truing stand.

Bike mechanic and I build / true wheels. I can see a sliver of your rim and it doesn’t look too far out at all. First I would check if it’s just the tire. Under high stress the construction of a tire can stretch and develop a wobble. It wasn’t a good angle to see how bad the actual rim is though so I can’t say that it’s mostly the tire with any confidence.

Even if it’s all in the rim that should be fine to true. Spoke tension is going to be a little bit wonky getting that true. Which will be OK but it might go out of true again and it might start breaking spokes. Which could be a few hundred miles from now or never be a problem at all. If it starts breaking spokes I would start looking into buying a new wheel.
