I received some SKS Raceblade fenders for Xmas, but the front fender doesn’t fit between the front wheel and the frame. The Crud Roadracer mk 3 claims to be usable with only 4mm of clearance. Does anyone have any experience of how that works out in practice? Thanks.

They probably mean 4mm of clearance between the tire and mud guard. That is usually the minimum recommended so a rock or debris doesn’t jam the wheel up and send you over the bars
SKS Speedrockers – its a 2 piece front fender.
Yeah you can’t run a front mudguard on that dumb frame. It would have to be paper thin and just the right dimensions. Can’t see anything off the shelf fitting. Not even sure what the purpose would be of making the clearance that tight. Certainly not aero if they left cables exposed.
You’re going to need to buy or make your own that hang on the frame, so when you turn enough they might spray but going straight you should be fine. Also a cut off front only side as a two piece design
