A friend of mine who restores bikes built this. I wasn’t really in the market for a gravel bike but he told me a price that I couldn’t pass up, $500. It’s a 90s era GT arette frame and fork that he modified for disc calipers. He put on a wheel set off of a Poseidon, a Microshift clutched 9 speed groupset, and other odds and ends to make a super nice, super budget friendly entry level gravel bike. I have really been enjoying riding it. I put about 30 miles on it this week, and the more I ride the more I want to ride. I come from mountain biking and used to hate pedaling for no reason (I.e. no downhill). But as I get fitter it becomes more enjoyable and this bike is awesome! That is all, thanks for stopping by 🙂

That’s stunning. You have a talented friend, with a great eye. Literally the seat post angle (and the seat pushed all the way forward on a straight post) is all that gives away it being anything other than modern.
I had a couple of steel framed gt bikes of that era and they were brilliant bikes with a lovely ride quality.
