Stuck between these two wheel upgrade choices, looking for advice.
These are going on a 10spd emonda ALR, not a weight weenie build but it’s got some high end component and other expensive aero goodies on it. So I know that aluminum tracks offer better stopping power/modulation, especially in the wet. I’m a fair weather rider, I use it to cross train typically so I don’t ever go out in the rain, I live in south FL, so absolutely no elevation, no fast descents, etc. I know that if I rode in the wet, or came barreling down descents at speed the better braking would help, but knowing these two facts should I still go with the aluminum tracked comp 5s? I’ve negotiated the prices down to 350 and 550 respectively, just not sure if which I should go with.
(Included a close up of the braking surface on the pro just to show y’all what we’re working with there, doesn’t look SUPER worn)
Thanks for you insights!
