Anything else wrong? I’d probably keep it. But I’d also be disappointed. It’s largely the state of everything lately it seems. Everything sucks.

Call and complain. They will send a giftcard and done. Rewrap it yourself. It usually sticks 2-3 times. If you think about returning because of this you don’t deserve it anyway!

Yeah you should return it over something you could correct in less than a minute.

Canyons quality control has gone super downhill the last few years.
The caveat here though is that it’s a $6000 bike that you would have paid $8000 for at a bike shop. 💁♂️ so these minor quality issues can be taken with that mindset.
Honestly this is super easy to fix. Get some electrical tape. Undo the last round of fasting tape and put the new tape on. It will look 10x better.

Just grab a roll of electrical tape and rewrap the handlebar tape.

It’s highly likely that the tape got creased in transit. Just remove and reapply some black electrical tape. Or just leave it; you’ll not notice it once the bike has some scars from actual use.

If you return the whole bike then I have zero respect for you or to be quite honest your immediate family.

Come on…
That’s literally one stripe of tape that isn’t perfectly placed. I’d piss myself laughing working in the customer service when u would call for that.
If there are no real problems with the bike, grab a piece of tape and fix it yourself. Should take less than a minute.

It’s just bar tape??? Rewrap it.
StandnIntheFire on
It’s because the bars have an adjustable width. Yours aren’t in the narrowest position so to cover that gap, you’d want to unroll some of the tape and redo it.
Otherwise, push the bars in to their in narrowest position and it should help.

I’m not a canyon fan but this is not a reason to return

Because of the bar tape? Seriously? Maybe you should have ordered big boy pants to go along with the bike.
