Hello everyone!

I’m riding a Cube Stereo Hybrid One55 (link to specs: https://info.cube.eu/product?a=736510&h=en).
The stock setup is Assegai 29×2.50 WT for front and Minion DHR II 29×2.40 WT rear.

I’m considering running Assegai 2.50 WT both front and rear because I feel like I could use a bit more grip on the back, especially in current wintery conditions.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has tried or have experience, if the Assegai as a rear tire is a good choice and how it may perform compared to a DHR II (traction, cornering…).

Or alternatively, would the DHR II wider 2,5" instead of 2,4" make any noticeable difference?

Another concern is whether the 2,5" will fit without rubbing the rear triangle. It looks that I have ~7-8mm clearance from each side from knob to frame. Adding a few photos, so my understanding is that there should be still a plenty of space, but I'm not sure.

(yah, the bike is/was dirty AF, but for me it does not make sense to wash it more often than once pre 10-15 rides in muddy rainy conditions. Btw just an unwanted anecdote from a friend that is building and repairing bikes for a living – frequently washed bikes suffer from problems with bearings and pivots 2-3 times more often / sooner.)

Will appreciate any personal experience or opinion.
Cheers!

I wouldn’t run 2.5 on that frame. Rims flex and that looks close enough to the frame to rub on it.
